Add another GameObject and Rename it to "Scene root". Click on Gameobject in Hierarchy and go to inspector Tab and rename it to "Artoolkit" and hit Enter. Select GameObject/Create Empty or press CTRL+SHIFT+N. Delete "Main Camera" and "Directional Light" from "Scene1" Hierarchy tab displayed in left part of the screen.

Save the scene by pressing CTRL+S and store it in projects root directory. Dialog-Box showing complete list of files in the ARtoolkit library would be shown. Select ARUnity5.unitypackage and click Open.
Go to the location where you have uncompressed the Artoolkit library files.Select Assets/Import Package/Custom Package.Now, lets import Artoolkit library in Unity:.Uncompress Artoolkit library that you have downloaded and store it somewhere in your PC.Write Project Name and set the location where you want to store your project and then click "Create Project" Dialog-Box asking for Project Name, Location will open up.
Unity Download version 5.5.4f1 (Latest 2017 version has some issues with Artoolkit library).
